How we are governed
PlayBoard is governed by an Executive Committee which is elected by its member organisations annually through a postal ballot using the single transferable vote system. On average it meets ten times per year.
The 9 elected members sit for a three year period. Any full member organisation can nominate an individual to stand for election to the Executive. The Executive Committee can co-opt up to four additional members, up to a maximum total of 14 Executive Committee members, to fill gaps as they see fit.
Chair
PlayBoard's Chair is elected for a three year period. The Chair is nominated by the Executive. This is ratified at the AGM. The Chair can serve no more than two consecutive terms. The current chair is Sam McCready.
Honorary Officers
Honorary officers are nominated by the Executive and elected at the AGM.
Governing PlayBoard
PlayBoard staff are responsible to the Executive Committee through the Chief Executive Officer. The Executive ensures the good governance of the organisation by monitoring progress and setting the strategic objectives and policy direction of PlayBoard.
