9th June 2008 - PlayBoard are delighted with Health Minister Michael McGimpsey’s decision to continue to fund 54 after schools projects for a further six months.
PlayBoard, the lead agency for children and young people’s play in Northern Ireland, today welcomed the announcement from the Department of Health that funding for 54 school aged childcare projects at risk of closure in June will be extended for 6 months, ensuring that the projects remain open.

30th - 31st May 2008 PLAY GATHERING (Lorne House)
PlayBoard's exciting 2 day Play Gathering (the first of its kind in Northern Ireland) took place on 31st May 2008 which promoted Play at its Best!
National Playday 2008 "Give us a go!"
Wednesday 6th August, Oxford Island, 12pm - 4pm.This years title is 'Give us a go!' The campaign promotes the benefits of allowing children to manage their own risks whilst playing and aims to counter the risk-averse 'cotton wool' culture that can limit children's play.
