PlayBoard is governed by an Executive Committee which is elected by its member organisations annually through a postal ballot using the single transferable vote system. On average our Executive Committee meets ten times per year.
The elected members sit for a three year period. Any full member organisation can nominate an individual to stand for election onto the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee comprising of 12 individuals can co-opt up to four additional members to fill gaps as necessary.
PlayBoard's Chair is elected for a three year period (Can serve up to two consecutive terms). The Chair is nominated by the Executive Committee and this decision is then ratified at PlayBoard's Annual General Meeting (AGM). The current chair is Sam McCready.
Honorary Officers are nominated by the Executive and elected at the AGM.
PlayBoard staff are responsible to the Executive Committee through the Chief Executive Officer. The Executive ensures the good governance of the organisation by monitoring progress and setting the strategic objectives and policy direction of PlayBoard.
