Playday will be celebrated across the UK on Wednesday 4 August. The theme for this year’s Playday is Summer of Play.

The Playday 2021 theme recognises the challenges children and young people have faced over the past year and the need to enjoy time for play free of restrictions, with their friends, having fun. PlayBoard, along with Play England, Play Wales and Play Scotland, is encouraging families, carers, and communities to help children enjoy a Summer of Play.

There are new posters available for 2021 to help you celebrate Playday. Go to to download.

To celebrate Playday, Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids’ Clubs have shared a creative way to get children, young people, their families and communities out playing.

They have created 10 posters with QR codes and are encouraging School Age Childcare providers and others to print off and hide in areas around your community or in your outdoor space where it is safe to play. Each QR code reveals a game for children and young people to play.
