Play on Early Education, the second International Athens Conference ran from 27 to 30 April. Staff from PlayBoard attended the conference, representing Northern Ireland on the international stage.

Alan Herron, Director of Service Delivery & Development, presented on children’s play and Covid-19 recovery and also highlighted the legacy and impact of conflict on play. On behalf of PlayBoard, Alan participated an interview for a forthcoming documentary from the National Greek Broadcast Network.

Angela Stallard, Service Delivery & Development Manager discussed play across communities during times of crisis and the importance of supporting children to understand and adapt to changing circumstances. Angela also shared the approaches brought in by PlayBoard to support parents through lockdown including virtual playdates, as well as the Summer of Play, aimed at reintroducing play to communities across Northern Ireland.
