This is a practical resource designed to provide practitioners with information to enable them to communicate with parents and children and build good relations in their setting.
The publication provides three sections to help work with families where English is not their first language.
Section One provides a variety of useful words and phrases that can be used with children and parents. These words can be used to help build relationships, get to know children and parents and help create an inclusive environment.
Section Two provides a range of forms that can be used to gather essential information in order to register a child in your setting. These forms can be used as stand-alone templates or can and should be adapted to meet your needs.
Section Three is a signposting section to enable you to seek out and access relevant information and support to build on your practice in this area.
