Salary: NJC Scale SO1 pts: 23-25 (£28,226 – £30,095). (Salary scales are currently under review)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and resourceful Development Officer to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of children and young people.  If you have a passion for working with people, helping them through challenging situations, and a willingness to train and learn on the job, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role

As the Development Officer, you will report to the Regional Coordinator for School-Age Childcare and play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of PlayBoard’s Bright Start programme. Your responsibilities will include:

Providing School-Aged Childcare funded projects and where necessary, their Management Committees, with support that will develop and improve their organisational capacity in achieving and maintaining quality standards as per the Minimum Standards for Childminding and Daycare.

What we’re looking for

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A level 5 qualification in Playwork or Childcare.
  • Proven experience in managing a childcare, afterschool or children’s services setting.
  • Proven experience of leading on or being directly involved in the annual HSCT Inspection Process against the Minimum Standards for Childminding and Daycare
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
  • A genuine interest in play and its impact on children and young people.
