Main purpose
This programme will have a specific focus on children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
The Inclusive Play Development Officer will be responsible for delivering an inclusive play programme within schools across Northern Ireland as part of the Department of Education’s SEN Reform Agenda.
The Inclusive Play Officer (IPO) will work with school settings (including children, staff and parents) regionally, to deliver PlayBoard’s Inclusive Play Project and contribute to improved wellbeing outcomes for children and young people.

Programme Delivery
- Via PlayBoard’s Inclusive Play Project, deliver a suite of play-based programmes focused on enhancing inclusion, across identified schools, throughout Northern Ireland.
- Plan, coordinate and deliver inclusive play sessions for children and young people, with a particular focus on children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Support schools and settings to embed inclusive play practices which promote wellbeing, participation and inclusion.
